Bryan,

I don't know about PhotoStory, but you should be able to load the files from the DVD into Movie Edit Pro (Magix video editor) and then pause where needed and use 'File' >> 'Export movie' >> 'Single frame as jpeg'. Alternately you might play the DVD on your computer, pause where needed, and use Window screen capture. The latter will no doubt require and extra step of cropping the screen shot. In any event the downside is the the resolution will be that of the DVD, not the original photo.

Should I say BackUp, backkup, backup?

Regards,

Carl

Thanks Carl - You're right... Backup is the watchword. It's my external drive that died; I was relying too much on its support, having already taken the files off my hard drive to free up some space. In future, I guess I'll have to have a backup for the backup!

By the way, your suggestion does work on PhotoStory. Thanks again.   Bryan
