Remove photo effects on all slides in slideshow

Margaret-Gott wrote on 10/15/2018, 4:50 PM

Am using trial period to evaluate the program before buying and am creating a large slideshow. I somehow imposed some panning effects on all pictures inadvertently and want to remove them all and possibly apply to individual shots. How do I do this, i.e. remove effects throughout the slideshow?

@Margaret-Gott

Welcome to the Magix forums.

First, please do not post entirely in bold! Forum etiquette defines that as anger or even shouting!

To answer your question: first, make sure you are in the timeline view. Select the first transition, right-click on the transition symbol (see the screenshot below) and on the menu that opens select "Cut". This will remove the transition and that symbol will become an "A|B" box. Right-click again on this symbol and select the option "Apply to all the objects in the track" or "Apply to all following objects in the track". Done! You can then set the transitions on individual slides as you wish.

I did not write the post in caps, so don't know why it showed that way. Thanks

Does the action you told me about also apply to zoom effects on actual pics, or just to transitions. My problem is that pics are zooming and I want to remove this throughout the whole slideshow.

Margaret-Gott wrote on 10/16/2018, 10:38 AM

Sorry, just realized you said "bold" not "caps". Didn't realize I had done that. Will not in future.

No problem!

Good question! To which I believe the answer is Yes, since they are all effects, but I've never needed to test this so cannot say for certain. The only thing you can do is try it and see!

Haven't figured that one out yet. Another quick question - do you know if there is a way to view a preview of a slideshow (prior to clicking "Finish") on full screen rather than tile view?

johnebaker wrote on 10/18/2018, 11:40 PM

@Margaret-Gott

Hi

To remove the zooming and any other effects completely from all objects do the following:

  1. Ensure you are in Timeline mode.
  2. Select all the objects to be reset
  3. Right click one of the objects and select Effect settings, Reset.

. . . . to view a preview of a slideshow (prior to clicking "Finish") on full screen rather than tile view . . . .

Double click the preview monitor will switch it to full screen mode, double click again or press Esc, to revert to normal

Thank you so much - I am slowly getting this.

Margaret-Gott wrote on 10/19/2018, 12:58 AM

I have finally completed at least an acceptable 45 min. slideshow, complete with music (my own) and text inserts and captions. It has been an amazing learning experience and I have enjoyed it all. I have many other slideshows to put together, so, after my trial period ends, I will be purchasing the program and look forward to learning a great deal more.

I cannot find a way to apply the same transition to all slides. I have tried right clicking once, twice and no option to apply to all.What am I doing wrong or must I apply to all 57 slides individually? Thank you for any light you might shed on my dilemma.

@George-Felton

Hi

Working in Timeline mode - left click the transition icon on the object you want to copy from - select your preferred option from the pop-up menu - see image below.

No option to apply to all slides appears by left clicking. The options come, up but no apply to all. What am I doing wrong?

George-Felton wrote on 11/19/2019, 3:50 PM

Also no storyboard shows. It does for other slide shows I have done. I am saving as "save as" Is that a mistake?

emmrecs wrote on 11/20/2019, 3:10 AM

@George-Felton

Are you sure you're doing what @johnebaker said and working in Timeline view?

I'm also somewhat confused by your statement "no storyboard shows". In Timeline view I would not expect the Storyboard view to be visible. Can you post a screenshot of your main working screen?

Photostory has a button that you can click back and forth between storyboard and timeline. When I Click from timeline to storyboard, it is blank. When I click back to timeline there is no option to set a chosen transition to all slides at once.

@George-Felton

You have to click on the transition button. Look closely at the image that John EB posted.

Which version of PhotoStory do you have. See under Help>About.

@George-Felton

Further to the above, if your videos/photos are not on track 1, you won't see anything in StoryBoard mode.

Very helpful. Had no idea that all slides had to be on track 1. Thank you
