Remaking an old project

rlaArts wrote on 3/29/2017, 3:40 PM
  1. I started a project a few years ago (photostory 2014?) and at that time I purchased from Catooh marketplace a number of photos and videos. I am now using Photostory 2016 Deluxe. Now editing the old project I cannot access purchases downloaded to the earlier version of the software. When I go to the marketplace I can still view the previous purchases. How can I download specific items to this new version?
  2. What is the easiest way to sort 100 photos once uploaded from different sources. The older versions Delux 10 and 14 allowed me to rearrange the order of photos (storyboard) very simply.

Hi,

1. There is a time limit of a couple of weeks to download from Catooh. When you do, make sure that you download to a place folder on your hard drive that you will access from whatever program and that you make a backup copy and put it somewhere safe. If you have not reinstalled your computer or wiped your hard disk, the files should still be there. Only you know where you put them when you downloaded, so go and hunt them down. When in Catooh, at the bottom left, there is a destination location on your computer somewhere. This is what you note or change so that you know where you put the files. This has nothing to do with PhotoStory, only file management.

2. I am not sure what you mean. Firstly, upload means that you uploaded to somewhere else, like somewhere on the internet. Download means that you obtained from somewhere on the internet and put them (downloaded) to your computer. Import/insert means that you bring the files into your program. So, did you import 100 photos onto the timeline? Or in Storyboard mode? If you are in Timeline mode, switch to Storyboard mode and rearrange your photos.

Alternatively, when you have the photos in the media pool, select them one by one and import/insert them onto the timeline or the Storyboard, in the order that you want. After that, you can drag them around in the Storyboard.

Hi there,

Thank you for the quick response. You are right. I searched through old folders i had placed on an external drive and found what i was looking for. With regard to sorting in storyboard mode it was never a problem before, yet i am still having difficulty rearranging photos.

@rlaArts

Hi,

Can you post a screen shot showing the interface with some photos in the Storyboard area and images in the folder of the Media Pool?

What is the difficulty in rearranging the photos? You just grab and drag, no?

Hi again,

Would you recommend reloading the software (Amazon download)? The app is very sluggish often freezing or crashing. When I go to drag and drop from the media pool it takes forever. When I try to move photos around within the storyboard nothing happens then I realize the app is frozen. Very frustrating and yes at this point I am very impatient.😆 This was to be a quick remake project.

What are the specs of your computer? W7 or W10?

Have you updated to the latest patch?

Hi,

If you updated from W7 to W10 but did not reinstall PhotoStory, it may be a good idea to do so. Also by latest patch, I mean PhotoStory. See under Help for Update online, or something like that.
