I have an image that is 1536x2048 and was originally 300px. I reduced it to 96 px using Microsoft Expression Design. The file size is still 2.95mb. I need the file size to be 700kb or less. How would I do that in Magix Photo Manager 9?
By 300px and 96 px do you mean pixels / inch or pixels / cm? If dots per inch then this can be ignored for our purposes as it refers to printing?
What format are you saving the image in? If you are saving as bmp or tif then you are never going to get the file size down to what you need if you maintain the same dimensions.
From experimentation a jpg image 1536 * 2048 saved at best quality (lowest compression) is about 950 kB in size, at high quality - compression set to 15, on a scale of 1 to 99 - the file size is reduced to ~320 kB.
You are going to struggle getting the file size down below 2 MB using the png format.
Does the file have to be a png or do you have a requirement transparency in the image?
If you are not using transparency then try jpg format - most Android devices and iPads/iPhones support jpg which is commonly regarded as the universal format.
