Recording issues

Lea-Worrall wrote on 1/29/2022, 10:17 AM

Hello,

I've recently purchased "rescue your videotapes". I have seemingly loaded everything onto my PC okay, registered etc etc... Once connected up, I can get the video to play on the little screen but when I click the record button, the picture freezes and it doesn't record...

I've checked and my PC appears to comfortably meet the required standards, so what am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

Kind regards,

Lea,

United Kingdom.

Hi Lea, and welcome to the user to user forums.

Exactly which Intel processor (model number and generation please) do you have?

Also do you have the latest Intel drivers for the GPU? It should be driver version 30.0.101.1191

Hi,

Many thanks for the welcome!

I have an AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with Radeon Vega Graphics 3.60GHz

I'm not sure where to find the driver status...

The whole system is about 3 years old.

Hth,

Lea

Hi Lea.

I'm not a Ryzen user myself so I don't how to find out which driver you have or if it is up to date. I suggest going to the AMD site and look for driver updates. Looking at the specs of the processor and inboard graphics chip it should be more than coping, but whether the program can make use of the AMD graphics or not I'm unclear on that point as the programs specification page only mentions Intel processors and GPUs.

If when you visit the AMD site and find there are drivers that can fix the issue then that would be great, but if you can't then you need to contact Magix support itself which is at infoservice@magix.net.

There may be another person that sees this that runs a Ryzen AMD based system in the next few days and offer another solution but this is now beyond my limited experience with AMD components or systems.

One last thought.

What is the source of the recordings you are trying to capture? If you are recording using a capture device for a VCR or camcorder, there may be a setting issue or a different driver issue.
