recording a track... It looks like I get two? Please help!

When I record a track... say...of me talking. It shows on the track that I have two, one above the other, on the same line. I think I must have hit some button to make this happen...because it wasn't like that before. How do I turn it back to just one recording on one line? I'm not sure why it shows two recordings on one line. I have to think this will make my end recording bigger? but, I haven't gotten that far...I didn't want to continue until I figured out what was happening.

Thanks.

Hi,

I guess that your sound card records in stereo mode, duplicating left (default side for mono) to right. What you see is Right and Left waves.

Making your recording bigger is not a problem with the present capacity of the HDD. When you press on the recording button, in section 3 click on "advanced" and try to select "mono". This selection must be in accordance with the tuning of your soundcard.

To change the representation of the object (mixed waves vs L&R waves) press on the "Tab" key of your keyboard.
