Record button greyed out

garageski wrote on 5/9/2024, 5:05 PM

I'm installing audio cleaning lab 3.0 on an old Toshiba satellite L745 that I updated to Windows 10. I've installed uninstalled and reinstalled the program multiple times and the record button is still grayed out. I have given permission to the app for the microphone and the microphone I want to use is enabled. Any other things I could try.

@garageski Check in your Windows sound settings, if you even have an audio device for recording available.

Press Windows key and R on your keyboard and type mmsys.cpl. Then press Enter to open the Sound settings and look under the Recording tab.

Yes I checked under sound settings and the microphone I want to use is the default device and is enabled

@garageski Have you tried restarting your computer? Please select the Restart option and not the Shut down option. Maybe this will solve the problem. At least I hope so.

@garageski

HI

. . . . I have given permission to the app for the microphone . . . .

Can you confirm that the Let desktop apps access your microphone option is turned on?

@garageski Ok. I suggest you upload screenshots of your Cleaning Lab Recording settings, the Recording Tab of your Windows Sound settings and your Windows microphone security settings.

Maybe we can spot something there which was overlooked.
