Record @ 33 r.p.m. and export as 78 r.p.m. Can it be done

do you have a 33 rpm record (vinyl) and want to scan at 78 rpm?
vice has a 33 rpm (vinyl) disk, want to digitize, and then accelerate as if it were 78 ?

Thank you for answering. I have a bunch of old 78 rpm records that my friend would like to digialize. My turntable only has 33 and 45 rpms. I want to know if it is possible to record at 33 or 45 and then after it is digitalized change the speed to 78 rpm.. Thank you, Victor

Yes, there is a way to convert.
Scan the disc at 45 rpm and then use the pitch after this.
I have it written down there at my work, I'll look for the factor / multiplier and come back here.

Hello Joao, I have found an easy solution to my problem I record my 78 rpm record with Magix and export it as a mp3 to my desktop on my computer. Then I import the mp3 into Audacity and select effects, then change speed. Select 45 to 78 and select ok. Then I put themp3 where I want it. Thank you for answering me. Victor

I'm glad you have been able to find a solution.

BUT, are you aware that every time you "save" an .mp3 you are losing at least some of the "quality" of the sound? Because mp3 it is a "compressed" format, each resave is also an additional compression so some data is lost each time; after only a very small number of save/edit/resave operations the quality loss becomes very noticeable when compared with the original recording. Once lost, that data can never be recovered unless one goes back to the original recording.

Most definitely, YES! The .mp3 format was only ever intended as a final "distribution" format, not a "recording" or "editing" format.

Sorry for the delay/wait, I was looking for the "Sony Preset Manager" program, I found it in
https://sony-preset-manager.software.informer.com/download/
Download and install it.
Also download the speed (pitch) and equalization adjustments from http://www.joao.eng.br/joao.sfpreset
Use the "Preset Manager" to IMPORT the options into Sound Forge.
Once this is done, test if it appears in the settings, and let me know so we can continue.

Joao, Thank you for your input and interest in my problem. I see that you have spent some time on the problem. As I have commented previously, this problem has been solved. The answer was very simple, Audacity has a speed change effect that allows you to record at one speed and export at another. It is done with one click.
