Re-sizing handles on photos

Bill-Platts wrote on 12/22/2022, 7:47 AM

Very often I need to change the aspect ration of a photo for various reasons. Before I would select a handle and drag to the left or right and it would change. I have been doing this almost daily. The last upgrade I noticed the handles had changed and I could not alter the aspect ratio. The only answer was to copy the image and paste it into Photoshop and then bring it back into Xara. Why?

I noticed some other people were annoyed by this and it looked like it would be fixed at the next upgrade. I have just upgraded and it is still the same. I feel like I have been conned. I have been with Xara for 30 years going back in the Acorn days there have been some good upgrades and some bad. This is bad. Please fix it..

@Bill-Platts

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums, so not a contact for any Magix staff and no-one who visits and posts here can fix it, sorry!

To bring your concern to the attention of the developers you need to use the Support header of any forum page and then carefully follow through each succeeding page, always choosing the option to Ask Support or Contact Support. Often this option is right at the foot of a page.

Hi

. . . . Before I would select a handle and drag to the left or right and it would change. . . . .

Without knowing which version of PhotoDesigner you are using.

Check that the indicated option below is turned off for the cropping handles to appear in Photo Designer when you click on an image.

Hi

. . . . I do not appear to have that box. . . . .

Are you working on a laptop?

If so check that the Windows Settings, System, Display, Scale & layout, Scale is set to 100%.

In Photo and Graphic Designer under Windows, Control Bars try resetting the toolbars.
