Purchase of Soundpool 18 and MM MX Premium licenses??

Hi,

I'm fairly new here, but I went ahead and purchased Soundpool 18 and MMM MX Premium via the Magix website and installed it on my computer through cd installations. Later, I discovered that I needed some licenses to utilize commercial use, so I purchased the licenses for both Soundpool 18 and MMM MX Premium via the Catooh website. It cost around $245, and I now have 2 downloads available in my Catooh account...My question is this: If I already have Soundpool 18 and MMM MX Premium installed on my computer, then do I have to download (and essentially install a second time) both programs? Or can I just keep my receipt as proof that I have purchased the Unlimited Audio Pro Licenses?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, and I have sent my inquiry to Catooh support as well, so I'm eager to hear from both groups...

I wouldn't be so eager if I were you.  I hate to be the one to tell you, but you just flushed a lot of money down the drain.

First of all, when you purchase MM-MX Premium, the entire Soundpool 18 is already included as part of the software!  So, there was no reason to purchase it separately.  EXCEPT that if you wanted to use it commercially, you would need to purchase the Unlimited Audio Pro MM-MMX Soundpool license from CATOOH.

I don't know where you spent $245, but at most you only needed to spend $140 - $99.99 for MM-MX Premium and $39.99 for the Unlimited Audio Pro license.

I believe that you would have to install the soundpool that you downloaded with the Unlimited Audio Pro license in place of the standard soundpool files that came with the program.  The files are probably tagged so MAGIX can keep tabs on you!

Wow, I feel embarassed at such a blunder....I should have joined the forums earlier!!! Well, at least it's out in the open...I find it interesting that Magix allows you to "add" Soundpool 18 in your cart at checkout. It gave me the impression that it was an addition in content to MM-MX Premium. Alright, I plan on downloading the new one with the Pro License. For now, I'm interested to see what answer I receive from Catooh.

Thanks very much for your answer!!

Well, here's the *official* answer that I received from Catooh support:

Regarding having to download the new soundpool(s) in case of "tagging," they said,

"Since you purchased the licence you do not need to do anything anymore and you do not need to redownload the products. Simply keep the receit and this should be fine. You can now use the Soundpools with your produces and you do not need to mention Magix anywhere."

^ I also firgured I'd ask if I had to "reference Magix in my works", which  it apparently seems that the answer is "No."

Anyway, I decided to ask if Soundpool 18 was the same as Music Maker MX (Premium version), and they answered,

"The Soundpool Collection 18 has different sounds then Music Maker MX (or Premium)."

^ This makes sense as Soundpool 18 is like 3X the size of MM-MX Premium

Conclusion: I guess it did not work out so bad after all....except that after tinkering with it, I realize that it's probably WAY MORE music than I'll ever be able to use....but hey, more is better!

Also, regarding the "download versions," I had problems with those....for some odd reason I cannot open the compressed zip files....which is why I would highly recommend getting the "cd" (costs more, but you will definitely be able to install it!)
