Hi

Check your Antivirus/Firewall, it may have been updated and is now blocking the program from connecting to the Internet - though you should have a 'No Internet connection' warning if this was the case.

Your ISP, or the web server you are publishing to, may be very busy with high traffic at this time of the year and the virus situation.

You could try exporting the website to a folder on your PC and use a FTP program, eg FileZilla to upload it - connection settings are the same as those you entered into Web Designer.

I have published my website for many many years. Never had a problem. Last published on Dec 18, 2020. Since then cannot publish. It try's to publish but times out. I cannot even access my files on Magix. I can log in and see web pages but no files. I am quite sure that there is some thing wrong on your server. I have tried to access my files with 3 different computers. No luck. I have followed all recommendations. Is my site TOO BIG?? I have about 82 Pages probably with 4000 files?? But I have only used less than 1/2 of my 500 MEG. Can the site be refreshed?? Anyways please help.

Hi

. . . . I am quite sure that there is some thing wrong on your server.  . . . .

This is a user to user forum not Magix Support - we 'do not own any server'.

. . . .  I can log in and see web pages but no files. . . . .

Are you using Xara/Magix Online web hosting? If so has your annual hosting service contract expired?

I have just checked mine, both from the control panel and using FileZilla, and they are working correctly.

Could you connect with FileZilla ? If so did you try the export option and use FileZilla to upload your site?

Yes I am using Xara online web hosting (500 meg for free). Again I go thru all steps with my Web Program (Xara Web Designer 11 Premium. Once i hit the Publish website button it asks me to log in and then I hit publish. It exports all docs and then the publisher bar (TOP Right Corner comes up) but at that point it just sits there and does nothing. Then it gives a timed out error after 10 minutes. I will a different FTP program to see what happens. I still think something is wrong (why I can see my files if I log int0 MAGIX separately).

Hi: I was doing some checking the last few days. I decided to create a small web site and upload it to Magix Online. I had no problem setting it up and publishing. So I reloaded my actual Web Site that has over 5000 files. Again it will not publish. So I removed some pages and files to bring it to under 4900 files. Guess what - I can publish it with no problems. I added files to make it 5000 files. Cannot Publish!! There must be a limit on the number of uploaded files. I put a ticket in to see what can be done.

Did you check the total size of the published files - they could easily exceed your capacity - especially if the majority are images or you have several video files present.

I have lots of space.....I have only used about 230 meg of 500 meg available. There are no large files or videos. AS soon as you hit the 5000 mark it will not publish.

Hi

AFAIK there is no limit to the number of files, however there have been mentions that some users with big websites have had a similar issue and the work around is to split the project into defined sections each being a separate project, however for the number of files you have this may not be practical.

I would suggest you contact Magix Support - link is at the top of the page.

Do read this guide on how to navigate the Support system.
