In trying to start up the PC Check & Tuner 2010 I get this message:

"Program could not be started. It's possible that the installation folder is damaged. Reinstalling the program could remedy the problem. If the error occurs again, please contact support" Error code: -6"

I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times. I have also tried calling tech supoort all day and have not been able to get through. Frustrating! They don't even have a hold que. Just a message that all lines are busy and to try again.

If you are installing from Vista or Windows 7 try running the set-up (install) file by right clicking it and 'run as administrator'.

It might work...

Hi,

Sounds like the installation might somehow be corrupted. I understand you already tried reinstalling repeatedly, but maybe you could do so in Windows safe mode, to avoid potential software conflicts with security applications and so on.

Alternatively, try this: Find the "installation.ini" file for PC Check & Tuning while the program is not running and delete it. Then start the program again and try running and activating it. Where the "installation.ini" file in question is located kind of depends on your system and installation settings. But on your Windows XP with default installation settings it should be under the following location:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MAGIX\PC_Check_Tuning_2010_Download_Version

If you don't see all directories in this path, you might have to adjust your Windows Explorer to show hidden folders etc.

I hope this helps.

I got the same issue, but unsure what is the right way to fix it.

@sean-o26

Please create a new topic this is a 6 year old topic and refers to an old version of the program.

Include the following information:

  1. Computer specification - processor make/model, graphics card or chipset, RAM,  hard drive configuration, sizes and free space?

  2. Windows version and is it up to date?

  3. Software full name and version number - as found under Help, About . . .

  4. Was the program working then suddenly stopped? If so what changed on the computer, eg Windows upgrae/update, change of antivirus, etc.

Also please read this post before replying and add any other information you think may be relevant.
