What is the frame rate?

The video should be 29.97 if this is a North American camera. The project needs to be the same, which it should be, unless changes have been made.

I think you first need to find out what the footage frame rate is, then you need to set up your project to match that framerate so it does not playback faster (or slower).

As john-auvil says check the frame rate of the original and the project - I suspect the video was recorded on, for example, a UK Sony Hi8 camera at 25 fps and you are playing back at 29.97 fps, or your capture frame rate was set lower than the video.

Already tried to change to change the fps and the image became smoother but the sound is still having gaps....
