Problems displaying in Safari after editing with upgraded web designer

David-Striar wrote on 11/8/2020, 1:20 PM

I recently upgraded to the latest version of web designer premium. One of two sites I designed in an older version of the program and edited in the upgraded version does not display properly when using Safari but is fine with any other browser. There are all sorts of anomalous, incorrect configurations with regard to font color, size and placement. I am wondering if the problem occurred because I edited the site I'm having problems with in the newer version web designer but created it with an older version? No issues with the other site which I have not edited with the upgraded program. Thanks for any assistance...

@David-Striar

Hi and welcome to the forum.

. . . . does not display properly when using Safari but is fine with any other browser. . . . .

This could be a browser cache issue, try forcing a reload of the website, or one of the several known and long standing issues Safari has with Javascript driven websites, eg plugins for some features.

Unfortunately, if it is a Safari issue, you have no control over the viewers experience.

Thanks John - I appreciate it. I had already tried reloading several times thinking that might be the issue to no avail... Could Javascript cause a font that displays in every other website as black, to change color and become white when displaying in Safari?

Hi

Not of itself - the only way I know it could happen is if the browser itself is doing this, either as a result of:

  • an issue with the styling scripts eg is not handling an error correctly,
  • a plugin
  • an accessibility feature is turned on which also conflict with the styling scripts.
