Presonus Firepod Recording help!

Hi, I just got the Presonus Firepod to record my acoustic drum set with 7 mics. I want to record each track seperately simoultaneously so I can EQ them and change each one of their sound. The firepod has 8 mic xlr inputs and I have 7 mics so each mic goes into one but one is empty. when I try to record with any software I cannot record all the tracks at the same time, only 1 track. i have tried magix music maker, samplitude, fl, cubase, etc all this software and I can't record multiple tracks at the same time. either i don't know how to use it or something. also, is this problem caused by my soundcard? thanks help appreciated!

Hi,
First... Samplitude and Cubase can both record simultaneous tracks. You have to tell the software what input each track is recording. IE Track 1 is assigned to channel 1 on your device and etc.

With your presonus you can have eight pre-amp channels and 8 ADAT so you should have no problem.

Here is how to set up the Cubase that came with your Presonus: http://www.presonus.com/media/manuals/Cubase-LE4-Setup.pdf
