Playback buttons

Photostory delux 2016

I have made a photostory project with a number of individual slideshows and then burnt to dvd disc. It plays perfectly ok, but I wish to select the slideshows independently when playing back in a dvd player. Instead they automatically play sequentially. I believe I must have inadvertently selected this option, but can no longer find anywhere to change it. Any help much appreciated - thanks

@alanmac

Hi

Did you set this option in the Disc menu editing?

If not see this tutorial for how to create a multi movie/slideshow disc. The tutorial is based on Movie Edit Pro however the principals and end result are the same for Photostory where you see 'movie' this is 'slideshow' in Photostory and you need to work in timeline mode.

Many thanks John. Followed your link and advice but I still cannot see any menu item that allows me to toggle between instruction to either play items sequentially or play them individually. I almost looks like once decided for a project there is no opportunity to change it. If you have any other thoughts I would gladly receive them. Thanks again

Hi

If you followed the tutorial then the disc menu will create a play button for each movie/slideshow automatically.

The timelines should look something like this example of 5 slideshows each on its own timeline - in the image below they are named Slideshow 1 - 5.

When you are in Disc burn, you should see a play button for each slideshow/timeline as shown below

Photostory does not support 'Playlists' so if you want a 'Play All' button then you need to add one further slideshow with all the content of the independant slideshows combined together change the name of the timeline to 'Play all'

Hi John, Yes I followed the tutorial and have done all as suggested. So I have a button for each slideshow and can see all of them in the disc burn preview and in the final disc. What I used to be able to do is arrange it so that when I insert the completed disc into the player and see the buttons, I want to choose which of several slideshows to play. I don't want to see the whole sequence of slideshow automatically. At the end of each slideshow I want to go back to the menu and choose another slideshow. I no longer see the menu item to achieve that or change it. Where has it gone? Thanks. Sorry, but it is very frustrating!

Hi

. . . . I want to choose which of several slideshows to play. I don't want to see the whole sequence of slideshow automatically. . . . .

Check that the menu button properties are set to - in the menu edit mode double click each button to get the Properties dialog.

Thank you for raising this topic - this would would appear to be a different default behaviour compared to the Movie Edit Pro/Movie Studio/Video Pro X even though they have the same 'engine'. The tutorial along with some others is going to be updated, so I will incorporate this difference into the new version.

Brilliant! - Thank you very much John. That works perfectly. I simply didn't realise one could specify button properties like that. Big help and much appreciated
