Photostory Deluxe 2017 won't export

helen-hunter wrote on 7/10/2017, 7:50 AM

I'm having problems exporting my project. It will save ok but wont export to wmv, mp4 or many of the other options. I get an error message saying export failed, try another format or memory may be full. I have a 3tb hard drive so have plenty of memory.

Please help!

Using Windows 10

Tried to burn to disc, failed again

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

I am no expert at reading the error log but one line does stand out for me:

 Open Project: IFS_Swans_Leavers_Slide_Show_2017_final_cut_cut -- avchd project 2017-07-10

This clearly infers that your project is going to be burned as as AVCHD DVD. This means that the playback time of the whole project cannot exceed about 30 minutes (this is the maximum that can be written to a standard DVD because the exported file size is so much bigger than those needed by DVD). So, does the total playing time exceed this?

Second thought; it is possible that your computer's internal DVD burner may not be able to handle the much higher data rate, and file size, involved with AVCHD DVDs. It is not described as being capable of writing BD (Blu-ray) disks.

Final thought; if you are attempting to burn an AVCHD disk you will almost certainly need a Blu-ray player for playback.

Final, final thought: you say you have

a 3tb hard drive so have plenty of memory.

Unfortunately, that is a common misconception. "Memory" is much more to do with the amount of RAM your computer has; hard drive space is simply storage, not memory. So, can you read this post and give us ALL the information requested there? Thank you.

Hi

An important piece of information in the error log is:

. . . .AVSDK Message - ERROR: :Cannot get device/media specific information -> Required command option not supported by drive . . . .

This is a typical response if you are trying to burn to an unsupported disc format or a bad disc.

What make and type of discs are you using?
