Can anyone help with the problem of constant crashing and freeze when trying to open or load a project In Photostory? (Please see the error image below). I have tried re-loading the files and re-installing.

I have a PC running Windows 11. The product is Photostory deluxe 2023

Thanks for any offer of help.

Peter

HI

The error is occurring with a Windows component, as a first step check the Windows 11 installation following this tutorial, steps 3 to 11.

Although the tutorial refers to Windows 10 it also applies to Windows 11.

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

The faulting module, ntdll.dll, is a Windows file so you first should try simply rebooting your computer. Make sure you use the Power>Restart option, not the Power>Shut Down.

If the problem persists after the reboot, check that all updates to Win 11 are installed.

If that still produces the problem (and assuming you do not see the error message with any other app on your computer) you should consider fully uninstalling and then reinstalling the program. I note you say you have already reinstalled it BUT unless you took the necessary steps to ensure everything connected with the previous installation was removed - the default Uninstaller does not do this because some files, registry entries etc., are created and updated on each run of the program and the Uninstaller does not know they even exist - there is a very high probability that the "problem" will continue to exist after reinstallation.

To avoid this situation we advise using Revo Uninstaller. Download and install it on your computer, run it and select your installation of Photostory to be removed. Allow it to scan your hard drive(s) for any "leftovers"; it will list them for you, either as files and folders or registry entries, or both. Check carefully everything it lists, especially if you have other Magix programs on your computer.

Once it has completed the uninstall, reboot (restart) your computer again and then install the program again.
