Hi

Are the photos in the last 5 mins, ie where the problem starts, from the same source as the previous 20 mins?

If not what is the source image resolution?

all the photos are from the same location. They are all jpeg's and vary in resolution, both before and after the break point, from 2102x1164 to 4405x4405

Hi

. . . . all the photos are from the same location . . . .

By source I meant from the same camera, capture software, etc.

. . . . They are all jpeg's and vary in resolution . . . .

Is there a reason why they vary in size/resolution, eg are they from different sources, have they been processed in and image editing program etc?

Hi John,

Thanks for the answer. All 300 images are from scanned photos, using the same scanner and software. The originals vary in size from 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch B&W to 8x10 color. Other variations are due to post-scan processing, like cropping mainly.

I've run the export several times, and have played the video with different software, on different computers - always the same result. Each photo is the displayed the same way: showing for 4 seconds, with 1 sec simple transition. But at about 20 minutes, an image appears that is fine for the first couple seconds, then becomes pixellated. After that, all are pixellated. On top of that, the transitions become long black screens, about 15 seconds each. Yuk. Have used your software for similar, but shorter programs (11 minutes or so) before with no problems. Hoping you can help!

As a quick test set a range from starting from the image after the one that pixellates to the end of the timeline and export this to see if the rest are OK, to set the start point of the range, in Timeline mode, set the timeline cursor to the start position and right click the bar where the cursor is at the position for the end of the range as shown below

If the export is OK, then try removing the pixellating image and export to see if the the pixellation has gone?

wow, when i looked at it in timeline mode, found it was all messed up. big blank gaps, etc. going to start over from scratch using the wizard to create the slideshow. I expect this will work better.

riley wrote on 8/2/2017, 9:48 PM

well, its not working yet. I took the first half of the slideshow, about 150 photos, and made a new slide show with them. Pixellation again, at about 75% from the beginning of the video. Is there some max size you shouldn't go beyond? Starting to lose my confidence in this software.

Hi

Do you have any 'all in one' codec packs installed, eg KLite ?

Which export option and resolution are you selecting?

. . . . Is there some max size you shouldn't go beyond? . . . .

Not as far as I know - I have the Photostory 2017 installed and it exports a timeline with 350+ images fine to mpeg-2 1920*1080.

no I don't have one of those installed. Are you saying that might help the problem?

No - just the opposite - they can be the cause more export problems.

well, never mind, i bought a copy of NCH Photostage. I did in 15 minutes what I had been fighting Magix's instability, bad usability, and quirkiness for weeks.
