Please read John's post immediately above yours. Although addressed to @BlueVette we really need you to also answer the questions he asks in order to be able to give you any sort of answer!
. . . . project could be saved on a memory stick/flash drive to then be inserted into a TV for showing . . . .
The 'project' itself is not a video format that can be played - it is a set of instructions telling the program what is on the timeline, what effects have been applied etc.
For what you need you must export the project as a video file - the most universal format is MP4.
Once you have completed editing the project and saved it select File, Export, Video as MPEG-4 and select the required format in the drop down as shown in the image below.
for the US (NTSC TV system) select the MP4 xxxx 29.97p
for none US (PAL TV system) select MP4 xxxx 25p
xxxx is the video resolution you require, ideally this should be the same as any source video in the project in the project, if you have only images then match your TV resolution.
John, you asked what was I going to do with memory stick/flash drive. In the Photostory Program I was going to make a slide show and save it to a memory stick I want to use the memory stick and plug it into a computer or TV.
The method I detailed above is the way to do this - check what video formats your TV can play if it supports MP4 (most do) then use the appropriate mp4 export from the list in my previous comment.
