A few of my photos in photo story are cutting off the top of the photo- how do I correct this?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
This sounds like the image has been cropped to fit the aspect ratio of the project eg the image is 4:3 aspect ratio and the project is set to 16:9.
Do you have the option indicated in the image below on (checked) ?
If so then you may get or have had this warning, if it was not turned off
