Hi

. . . . Online Photo Albums . . . .

Are you referring to the Magix Online Album hosting that was free with the program?

If so the free Online Album hosting was discontinued in April 2016.

Which version of Photostory are you using?

Hi,

See this page.

I have it and use it. I can't say that it's great. Family and friends never remember where it is.

HI, I have not yet purchased. I am looking to purchase but not sure if the online album feature is what I want/need. I read about it in another post. I did not it had been discontinued. Do any of your offerings offer online photo albums? [not slide shows...albums]

HI,

The free version has been discontinued. You can purchase what I showed you.

Note everything that you get on the webpage that I indicated. There is also a username.magix.net (/whatever) that you can use for playing around if you do web design, with say, Xara Web Designer or Xara Designer Pro X.

The online album is not something that you can highly modify, but it has a bunch of views. There is no manual, just a list of FAQs, and it's not obvious all that you can do.

No, you cannot search for photos in the album.

For the online album, you break it down into Collections - main groups, each Collection can have Albums, each Album can have photos, videos and audio files. Albums and each file can have properties that the viewer can display.

The user can also change the view for an Album, including: Gallery, Detail, Slideshow, Studio and Scrolling.

There is a lot more but, you get the idea.

Hi Karen,

Thank you for the compliments, much appreciated.

One of the problems with using the Online Album is getting family and friends to find it. I just put the link to the album on my elderly (ok, I am too) sister's computer so that she can easily find it. If you are a Facebook user, I am not, then having the link on your Facebook page would help.

You can have public and private access to the albums, so you would have to give user names and passwords to users of the private parts, adding a bit more complication.
