On Independence Pro 3, how do I get imported VSTs to play?

After copying some VST2 .dll files into the appropriate folder and importing them into Independence Pro 3 on a Windows 10 PC (see my earlier post), I can now select one and use the orange "E" button to open the VST, but I don't get any audio and the keyboard doesn't work. Also, the Quick Edit, Mapping, and Performance windows show VST INSTRUMENT SELECTED" and don't give me any options, and the Modules page doesn't give me the ability to apply effects I could on Independence's native instruments. Is there anything I'm missing?

@Jennifer-Findley Are you running Independence stand-alone or in a Magix DAW? Which audio driver are you using? In a Magix DAW you must select an ASIO driver. In Samplitude you also must set the Monitoring Mode to Mixer FX Monitoring Hybrid Engine.

I think that the VST instrument integration in Independence is very basic. If you want to use the Independence effects on VST instruments you can use the IndendenceFX VST effect plugin. Use the MIDI out option in Independence if you want to use the modulators and send the MIDI signal via your DAW to a separate instance of the VST instruments you want to use. Then add IndependenceFX after the VST instrument. This is a better way than loading the VST instruments inside Independence.

I'm using ACID Pro 10, but will shortly install the rest of ACID Pro 11 Suite. I'm not intending to use the modulators — for now, I just want to use Independence's note humanization features since those aren't natively implemented into ACID Pro or into most of the VSTs I use. The step sequencer with MIDI thru does allow me to play a VST using notes from Independence, but other modifiers like random to start delay don't seem to have any effect. Also, it only appears to work for MIDI channel 1. Is it possible to route MIDI through Independence (ideally via multiple MIDI channels) so that modifiers like random to start delay affect the MIDI notes before they reach the other soft synth?
