Hi. Just got the trail version of music maker. Having a real problem setting up my Yamaha MOXF withit. I have downloaded an asio and a Yamaha driver, nothing is happening. Any ideas please?
@graham-h8180 Can you tell us what you want to achieve?
You need to open the program settings under the File > Settings menu. Click on the Audio/MIDI tab. There select your Keyboard as a MIDI input and the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth as an MIDI output. If you want to play back MIDI on your keyboard select it as an output.
Next, select the ASIO driver of your audio interface as the audio driver. If you don't have an audio interface select the Music Maker ASIO driver and configure the recording inputs and playback outputs in the driver settings (click on the Advanced button to open them).

OK. The output is showing music maker asio as the output, however, I cannot get anything in the input box, despite having installed drivers. So in short, the daw is not seeing my input. Again, many thanks for your support.

@graham-h8180 The Music Maker ASIO input will only show audio inputs. If your computer doesn't have audio inputs you probably won't see anything.
Your keyboard should be visible in the MIDI input on the right side of the Audio/MIDI tab. If it isn't visible it isn't connected to your computer via USB or the USB driver wasn't installed.
How is your keyboard connected to your computer?
The MOXF keyboard sends audio and midi via a usb cable. That is how I am hooked up. Just ordered another cable to make sure it is not that.
@graham-h8180 Ok. Yes, it might be a good idea to test another cable if it comes from directly from Yamaha. I read in the manual of the Moxf that USB 3.0 cables are not supported.
Since your keyboard sends audio via USB it acts as an audio interface and you should definitely use its own Yamaha Steinberg audio driver and better not Music Maker ASIO. There might be additional functionality in the Yamaha driver that Music Maker ASIO cannot provide.
Well new cable connected, Yamaha driver installed, nothing. Bit frustrating.
@graham-h8180 Have you checked the Windows Device Manager? Your Yamaha keyboard should be listed under Sound, Video and Gamecontrollers and maybe also under Audio Inputs and Outputs in case it works like an audio interface.
If it isn't listed or there are unknown devices your driver doesn't work. You probably need to contact Yamaha support to troubleshoot this. Music Maker cannot integrate devices that Windows itself cannot initialize.
Guys. Just want to say thanks for your support. Being a septuagenarian, I sure am not at my prime at figuring out stuff..haha..No, the device manager is not showing my driver, so I guess I will call Yamaha.
@graham-h8180 In case you cannot get it to work with Yamahas help it might be a good idea to get an external USB audio interface with MIDI In and MIDI Out.
I think that one of the cheaper interfaces with MIDI should be the Behringer UMC204HD or Steinberg UR22 MK2.
You would then connect the MIDI inputs and outputs of the interface with your Yamaha keyboard. You can also connect the audio output of your keyboard with the audio input of the interface. The MIDI and audio cables need to be bought separately.
In Music Maker you only need to select the audio driver and the MIDI In and Out of the USB audio interface and then you should be good to go. You also need to connect your speakers to the audio interface to hear everything.
Back, and with some progress. Finally have got the midi driver working. This is what I am hoping for. I am looking at the daw, to start with, to be nothing more than an old style Tascamish analogue multi track. So all I am wanting to do is to record my synth, without any of the daw sounds. Please, any ideas as to which tutorial might show me. P.s. You are a very patient bunch.
@graham-h8180 Great to hear you found a way to get the MIDI driver working. Did you need to do something special or did it just work one day? This might be helpful in case other user have the same problem.
