No sound when videos imported

I'm trying to import videos created from a canon dvd camcorder DC230 into video easy in windows 7. They import ok but there is no sound. I've copied the files from the mini cd's to hardrive and the file types are *.Bop, *.Ifo & *.vob. What do I need to do to get sound?

Try using the built-in importer for camcorders suitable to yours, having the miniDVD in your drive.

Just a guess, i've never used such media.

Vob's what you need. Try playing the VOB file in Windows Media Player, to see if the sound is ok/accessible in the transferred file. You would need a firewire lead to transfer from your camera directly into the program, but if the VOB file plays ok in WMP it should generally be ok. What about transferring using the software provided by CANON; always a good first step. Cheers, M o' L.
