Hi

Go to Control Panel, Sound and check that the default playback device on the Audio tab is set to you sound card, my guess is that it is set to the USB device.

Thanks for taking the time to answer but I think my playback device is set to the sound card  i.e (Digital Audio (S/PDIF). However I still cannot get sound on playback. This is the only device I can see on the playback audio tab other than my speakers and other USB input devices. Grateful for your help

Hi Tom

Unless you are using a S/PDIF connection to a TV or HI Fi system, then you should be selecting your speakers.
