Windows will not install due to it rejecting a piece of software it states is dodgy.

Unfortunately your first post is rather lacking in detail! Which Magix product are you trying to install and which Windows (in its infinite wisdom) is suggesting is dodgy?
You've posted to the Movie Studio area of the forum but we cannot be sure that is what you have, but if you do, please also tell us exactly which version and edition it is.

I downloaded Movie 2023.3 times.Windows stopped it twice and the third attempt a shorter version which appears to be installing.I am hoping I will have the bugs out in 24 hrs.Get back to you later.significant variation on file size.

The official installer for MMS 2023 is certainly not dodgy, I can assure you. So, inevitable question, where are you downloading it from?
As to file size; looking at the installer on my computer the downloaded file is 1,217,748 KB. That is the program installer, for the Premium edition. I suspect all but, possibly, the Basic Edition installers should be of a similar size.
