No capture device error

When capturing DV video with either MVPX6 or MVPX, after 2 minutes, it stops and error messsage "There is no capture device. Please check the connection!" appears. This is nonsense, because the 2 minutes of video IS captured and transfers onto the timeline. This is new, as I've been able to transfer whole 60 min DV tapes prior to this error. The tape reader is a Sony DVCAM DRV1000-P drive.

Can anyone help, please?

I think we need rather more information, especially about your computer, OS and how you are connecting the DVCAM to your computer.

My suspicion is that you are using Firewire and that you may need to investigate the firewire driver.

OTOH, are you sure the DV tape that you are trying to capture has no signal "breaks" in it, which might cause VPX to believe the capture has finished?
