I've recently renewed my computer to one running windows 8. Ive instaled Magix Recue your video tapes 6 on my new computer. When I am asked if I will be editing a file from my computer or from a VHS player I am unable to continue the process if I select VHS player. The VHS player is connected by the scart and USB connector. The scart switch is set to out. Any help would be much appreciated, Many thanks.

RYVT 6 is not Windows 8 compatible - you may lose some functionality including the DVD drive not being recognised by RYVT.

You can try installing the appropriate USB video converter drivers available here - on page 2, however there is no guarantee that they will work because they are not designed for Windows 8.

I would recommend you update RYVT to a Windows 8 compatible version.

Odd - I can only find version 6 for Windows XP/Vista/7.

That apart, the problem is likely to be a driver issue with the USB Video Converter.

It is not being recognised by Windows 8 or Windows 8 has installed 64 bit drivers which are not recognised by RYVT.

Are you using the Magix supplied converter and is it using 32 bit drivers?
