I really appreciate your help, But it seems your not familiar with the software itself. There are no such features as hide news, etc.. Thank you for your help regardless.
It is true that I am not familiar with the Designer Pro package as such, however I do have two of the component software packages that form the core of Designer Pro.
There are limited possibilities of where the pop up comes from it is either in program or a separate component that was installed at the same time as Designer Pro, this is the same with the Magix and Vegas line of products.
I do believe that Xara and Magix both are behind this. I simply do not understand that someone like myself who has upgraded is not spared one year from this garbage.
@Crazywabbit I just saw this post looking for an answer to this question (in Acid Pro 10), I know it's an old post and you may have figured it out already, but the app that @johnebaker was referring to is named simply "Update Notifier", there is no "Magix" in the title. However, I can say that, at least in Acid Pro 10, removing it did not solve the nag screen issue, for me.
Apparently now in the new v19 of Xara pro, the nag screen has an option in the bottom left corner to turn off the ads. So far ok. Not sure if it is bullet proof.
I presume that you are getting the message when you open Xara v18, correct?
The Notifier that others have mentioned pops up a message at the lower right of your screen upon booting up, not upon opening Xara. That is a different situation.
You say that you have upgraded to v18. Is your Update Service still active, meaning that your one year is not up? If so, then you can upgrade to v19 for free.
I simply do not understand that someone like myself who has upgraded is not spared one year from this garbage.
I suspect that your one year has expired and that is why you are getting the pop up message. I have both v18 and 19 on my computer. I opened v18 and got no popup advert. However, my one year has not expired.
In any event, closing the advert takes less than a second. Should not be a big deal.
I uninstalled v18, and yes that happened then but now v19 seems to be ok. Mine expires today. All is ok at my end now, if anything i will let you know. Thanks.
Unless you have downloaded everything recently from the On-line Catalogue (OCC) and know how to copy it all over to v19, go now to the Local Design Gallery and download All (for every component) from the OCC. You will not have access to it starting tomorrow.
