My vhs transfers in B&W

I have tried putting some old family footage onto a DVD but the images transfer as B & W? Has anyone got any clues as to why?

Hi,

Probably the video standard setting (PAL/SECAM/NTSC) is incorrect.

I had this at first. In my case, the install selected SECAM, so I had to change it to PAL B.
