Hi,
How are you recording? Are you using an internal sound card or a recording interface?

You can try bringing the levels down for your record process, you may be experiencing what is called clipping. It happens when mic (or other) levels are too high and the recording has crackles, pops and other undesirable artifacts.

Also try to avoid using the Mic input on a standard PC sound card as they can introduce just such problems. Line in is your cleaner choice.

Always record low and boost the volume later - that will give you a cleaner recording.
