My movie isn't fully saving.

Every time I try to save my project as a movie, it only saves the first 32 seconds of it. It's a four-minute movie, so does anyone know what's happening?

What format is the video in?

I had this problem with a VHS recording I made, there was a hard stop from one video clip on the tape to another, and for some reason the program would not get around it.

I ended up cutting the video, exporting each as an .avi file. I then opened a new project, added both avi files together and then exported the project to a new file. Then it worked when I burned it to disc.
