@Maria-Persson

Gday Maria, welcome to the Magix forum. We're fellow users here, not Magix staff.

A couple of things to do/check:

Windows:

Ensure Windows has been set to allow use of your "camera" (that's what it is called):

Windows Settings>Privacy and Security> Camera>Camera Access (at the top) switch it to On.

Below that, Switch On "Let apps access your camera".

Go back and do the same for the microphone.

Digitiser Driver

Go to this page:

https://www.magix.info/us/support/article/installation-procedure-magix-video-converter--710/

and check/download and install the latest driver for your particular-colour digitiser.

When all that is done:

Are you actually seeing any video playing in the monitor on the Import screen?

If not, on the Import screen, do you have your Magix digitiser listed (I don't know the exact name for it; I only have the program, not the hardware). In this image, the device I have connected is a GV-USB2; yours should be a Magix device.

Also, check you have the correct S-Video or Composite video cabling connected and selected correctly on the screen.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

i´ve checked privacy settings, the program has access to both microphone and camera.

i´ve updated the driver for the digitiser.

i´ve connected with composite. the little monitor that is supposed to show the video that is being transfered is blue, nothing else. and the record function doesn´t start recording. the button only has one reaction, a beep and then nothing.

Hi

. . . .Switch On "Let apps access your camera". . . . .

This the Windows Apps option, there is a separate option, lower down on the same pages for Camera and Microphone, which needs to be turned:-

Let desktop apps access your camera
