Every release up to Music Maker 14 is a CD-ROM.  MM-15 and beyond are all DVD-ROM (unless you bought the download).

You could always purchase the MM-17 download version.  I'd recommend the Premium download, if you can afford it.

Otherwise, if you do a Google search for Music Maker 14 you'll find a few retailers that still have it for sale.

I still recommend that you install a DVD drive.  It is now the defacto standard.

i really don't even have a job though, i'm only 14 and am just trying to  get SOMETHING working so i can create music with my guitar.  the cheapest DVD Drives cost around $20+, I returned the current MM to amazon because the description said CD instead of DVD.....so that gives me some money to spend on another MM.                         Thanks I'll try MM 14 and below
