Music maker 17 - editing tracks

ctmagix wrote on 4/13/2011, 3:51 AM

I am trialing the software:

1. How are instruments found ? It says over 200 but under Keyboard: Software instruments there is nothing.

2. When trying a keyboard displayed under keyboard, and when MidiRec is selected a bar is created and
the keys played are saved as a basic piano but no monitoring to hear what is played until play back.

3. Where are all the loops that should be more than 1500 ? Under Soundpools: there are about 300 in 3 styles,
Hiphop V 12, RockAlt V 3, Techno Vol 13 but how about some simplier, basic ones.

Are there any that can be edited with the Midi editor ? Can I edit a imported track?

4. Synth objects? It seems that there should be several synth objects there but only ROBOTA shows up.
No LIVID ATMOS VITA BEATBOX etc. Probably VITA MIDI could be edited.

Hi,

1., 3. & 4.

You are using the trial. The trial doesn't have the soundfiles, synths and instruments.

That's maybe confusing, but in the end - do you want to download a trial which has around 3-4 Gigabyte? ;). After you purchased the program you can download them for free.

Besides:
Maybe you can even download them in the trial period. Check the help menu.

2.

Hmmm...didn't get that. Which VST-Instrument is on that MIDI Track?

Thanks, I saw these in the help and manual but it didn't mention that only some features work during the trial period with the trial key. Is there a list of what additional features come in the full version ?

2. I clicked on keyboard and a keyboard shows up at the bottom.

I click on red-button with MidiRec and the system creates a track which contains the notes that I play on the keyboard, but I can only hear them afterwards on a playback not while playing along with the song.

On editing the Midi track, I can change change the size, length and location of the note but if I select the the drum editor it converts the notes to different percussion sounds. kinda cool, but not very easy to manage. I suppose that this editing only works for Midi files, hopefully also VITA MIDI.

Not sure whether there is a list.

It should be said in the program and manual.

Anyway, it's always content like Soundpools, Synthesizers and stuff. Features / functions are not limited, as far as I know.

I know that there are soundpools, more MIDI instruments and stuff like that.

The keyboard is just...well, kind of an interface. You still need to have an VST instrument on the track. Vita, Revolta - or another 3rd party plugin. It's possible that in Music Maker it automatically loads it, but I'm not sure (I use Samplitude...). About playback: You'll need to use an ASIO driver for that.

Well, the drum editor only is for drum arranging....
