hello everyone

Just bought this and having trouble in drawing. It says in the MIDI EDITOR if a pool loop is present then if you click Inspector it shows the loop on a pad where you can edit and recreate the formation.

It doesn't. I've read the manual/watched the tutorial, is it possible that because I have the basic version this function won't work? If so then I need to take this back and get the premium although if that is the case it's a bit unfair to have a tutorial that shows how to do it if it doesn't work.

All I want is to break up existing pools and write my own riffs like you could do on Music 3000 [Playstation 2].

I'm stuck for the moment so if anyone knows what to do please write here, thanks!

Hi there,

This function is not limited to the "Premium" version. It works in the regular/classic version, too. I think we might be dealing with a misunderstanding, though. Keep in mind that editing the individual notes will only work on MIDI objects. If you select an audio loop, the Inspector will show you other facilities instead (i.e. different audio effect settings).

If you've been working with the provided loops from the soundpools, most of these are audio files. You can find some MIDI file in there that contain notes and are linked to one of the virtual instruments in the program, though. In the soundpool manager, you can distinguish between audio and MIDI files via the small icon next to the file name: There's a small speaker icon for audio files and another icon with a 5-pin DIN connector and a note for a MIDI file. Once pulled into the arranger, there's also usually an obvious optical difference between the waveforms of the audio files and the patterns of discrete horizontal lines and dots representing the notes in the MIDI file.

I hope this info helps. Enjoy using the program!
