Music Editor returns error code 6

I am using Photostory 2105 Deluxe, and when trying to use the additional programs - music editor, it says there may be something wrong with the installation and returns an error code 6. The Photostory program is running on windows 10.

The other night I checked to see if there were upgrades to Photostory, and there were, so I installed the updates. It is now at version 14.06.69. Does the music editor work in this version? My old Photostory on DVD running under Windows Vista worked perfectly. This one does not.

Is there a fix for this? It wants me to reinstall music editor but I see no way of performing a reinstall. Ideas anyone?

Hi

. . . . The Photostory program is running on windows 10. . . . .

Was this an upgrade from Windows 7, 8 or 8.1?

If so then you are going to have to check Windows 10 is OK and uninstall / reinstall Photostory following the procedure at the bottom of the page in this post, uninstall Photostory as in step 1, ignore step 2 then proceed from step 3.  Expect this to take some time.

Where ever Movie Edit Pro is mentioned in the procedure substitute Photostory

I was told by the Magix wizards in Germany that Photostory Music Editor does not work with Windows 10. They said they were working on a solution, but several weeks have passed and there is no update. I think the Music Editor will not be available anytime soon. I am very disappointed as it was a tremendous asset, now the program is not nearly as powerful as it once was.
