Simple answer, Yes, provided that the format, sample rate and bit depth of the imported file matches what PS is expecting, and the file itself has no DRM (Digital Rights Management) limitation. What is the format etc. of the file you are trying to use? If you're not sure, the free MediaInfo utility will give you all the necessary information about these details.

If you are working in Storyboard mode then the music should be there, you just cannot see it - switching to Timeline mode for adding music allows you to see everything that is in the project.
