Muic Maker 16 crashes on opening and trying to change midi settings

I have Samplitude Music Studio 16

The program worked fine when I first used it a few times

I bought a AKAI MPK production keyboard / midi controller

I changed the midi settings to monitor the sound whilst recording MIDI by setting to ASIO

It worked ok but then whe I go back to use the program and try to reload a project the program crashes

When I go into the startup settings menu and go into 'System' the window opens briefly for all the settings but before I have the chance to change anything back it crashes

What did I do wrong?  What should I have done and do I need to reinstall?

Thanks if anyone can help I would be so happy because it sounded so good when it worked ok :)

I found the answer myself for this.

The ASIO setting didn't work with the Realtek sound system and crashed.  Magix advised that  i download all the latest chipset and device drivers which I did using the links they gave me but it still didn't work.  I noticed some people mention they used Soundblaster sound cards, and I suddenly remembered I had an old external card for use with laptops which I bought for my old pc.  I installed the driver from the disk, plugged in the Soundblaster card and swithed of the Realtek in the device options and hey presto it works fine now.  The end of 2 weeks trying to sort this out I'm so happy because i can use my keyboard now.
