Movie Studio Plat. 2023 text boxes too small to drag on the time line

Bill-the-repair-guy wrote on 2/11/2024, 9:29 PM

so i wanted to add text to the movie i was making. so click on template. than the text template , highlight the section of the video where it will go . then on the right at the top i click then down arrow on "my own" text and it pops open the test dialog box in the track bellow the video. i can add text to the dialog, make it any color....etc, just can not drag it any wider ( make the text view longer ). before i use to just condense the video which would make the text boxer bigger. its already condensed down as far as it will go.

Hi

. . . . highlight the section of the video where it will go  . . . .

You do not need to do this, the text will be inserted at the position of the timeline cursor.

. . . . just can not drag it any wider ( make the text view longer ) . . . .

Assuming you mean make the text display for a longer time, ensure that the track, the text object is on, is not locked, and you are zoomed in far enough both horizontally and vertically to be able to grab the edge of the text object, you should then be able to drag the length of the text object to the desired time required.

If that does not fix the issue, which text template did you use?

. . . . down arrow on "my own" text . . . .

If this is a text template you have created which template was it based upon, and what changes did you make?

HTH

i have to highlight the video track where i want to place the text under. text view is as large as it will go, yes down arrow on my own text. i am also still getting on long videos where i cannot drag anything past either side of the screen, i have to make the text/video view smaller where i can see end to end of the project. someone suggested it was ram but i have 64gb of ram and an LGA1200 MB, unless there is a setting in movie studio. I know this new app is wonderful , but i miss my vegas ver 18.

Agree: program need an update to add a Better way with /minimize/enlarging the title so when we try to expand sometimes we do not get that added title to pop on. the way we can work around would be to INCREASE the Font, from say 5 minimum to 20, then write in what you want, then decrease to teh font size down in the area you want. hope that helps out

@Bill-the-repair-guy,

Hi

Can you clarify please if you are referring to moving the text object in the preview pane, or as I posted above wanting to change the length of time the title is displayed on the screen?

Hi,

Screen shots please. I have no clue as to what you mean other than something about not being able to resize a text box in a template. Which template?
