Movie Edit Pro 15+ Online Update "Cannot connect to the server"

I don't remember this being a problem before, but I had to reinstall my operating system and now Movie Edit Pro 15 Plus says it "Cannot connect to the server.  Please check your connection to the internet."  when I use the Help->Online Update function.

I also have MEP14+ (which was also on here before) and it doesn't seem to have a problem.

This question was also posted on the MEPUsers site by someone else, so I know I'm not alone.  I've managed to manually download the update patch from the Magix support site, but it says it can't connect.  Weird.

Today, I read about this problem many times in the German version of this community. You are definitely not alone with this problem. However, up to now, no one seems to have an idea how this problem might be solved.
I think you  (and the other users with this problem) should inform Magix support about that!
