Movie Edit Pro 15 crashes using Settings.. Program

On installtion I remember having a look at the program settings. No problem.
Activated editing MPEG-2 movies. Pressing play makes it judder, so decided to change display resolution.
No matter what settings I chose (or even if I don't change any) pressing OK causes program to crash. This happens with or without video files loaded.
I presume re-install?
Unistalled and re-installed. Still crashes.

Have you tried the online update (from the Help menu)? The update fixed a lot of crashing issues for me. Also, If I were you, I'd use Revo Uninstaller on it, because the regular uninstaller doesn't get rid of everything (including corrupted registry settings)
