Mobile Site corrupting main site

Eileen-Cooper wrote on 10/15/2021, 8:05 AM

Using Xara Webdesign 18 on Windows 10. Decided to add mobile site to an existing desktop site, on preview everything looks great, but once published the whole thing is completely wrong on both sites, pages missing, titles and text overflowing edge of page, some pictures missing on the mobile site, plus background. The whole thing is a mess. We are now reverting back to just normal website standard stuff. a lot of hard work went into this and its frustrating, we have checked and double checked made sure all we have done is correct but to no avail. Any helpful hints an advice welcome.

Hi

Did you try forcing your browsers to reload the web pages or clear the browser cache? This is often necessary so that the site pages displayed are a 'fresh download' ie cached parts are not re-used which can cause the issues you are seeing.

Hi

How, did you set it up as a variant of the main site, or create it from scratch?

Hi

. . . . We set it up as a variant . . . .

In that case the only major difference between the 2 sites is some javascript that detects the browser device type and is using CSS styling to alter the layout.

If the viewing device is on the border between the 2 different resolution this may cause issues - which variant size did you use?

We used 480 for the mobile and 1000 for the mainwebsite

all fonts are web safe and used in both sites.
