Use the EXPORT command under the File pull-down menu and export "as wav".  Be sure to "normalize" on export.

If the MIDI file(s) are on the same track, set the start and end markers to the beginning and end of the section you want to export.  If it encompasses the entire length of the composition, then leave the markers where they are.  Then, set the track to play SOLO (the little 'S' box on the left end of the track) and export.

You don't need to convert to a WAV file before converting to an MP3.  MMM can EXPORT a MIDI file directly to an MP3.  Use the EXPORT command under the File pull-down menu and export "as MP3".  Be sure to "normalize" on export and set the bitrate desired for the MP3.

Just tried that. . . didn't work.  It actually said it saved it as a WAVE and then opened iTunes - in playing the song back, the "midi" section is just blank - no sound.  Other suggestions?  I've also sent this to the Tech support, with no answer yet.

I have two files that I recorded, one that has the "midi" and the "pre-recorded" music that imported as a Wave.  I tried the "export" fix you listed below on both.  Neither one exported/copied correctly.  It brings up a message that says I need to "assign the corresponding VST instrument" - no clue on my end what to do there.  I tried putting one of "instruments " on the track (you know the little photos on the left), but that didn't work either.  ACKKK!  I'm supposed to have these tracks for a rehearsal tomorrow and I'm pulling out my hair

The little photos at the left end have little to do with anything.  They are just markers/reminders of what the track instrument is.

Do the MIDI sections play properly in the arrangement within MMM?

MIDI instruments are assigned in the pull-down menu at the beginning of the track (left end) or from within the Vita MIDI Editor (pull-down menu).

I would normally get that error message if there is a track containing a MIDI object that's been muted (the 'M' button on the left end of the track) during the export.  (But, I usually have the track muted intentionally.)

Some screen shots of the arranger and Vita MIDI Editor might help us understand the problem better.

Yes, the MIDI plays fine in the MMM arrangement.  Not sure how to send you a "screen shot"

Well, I can't say that I can be any more help with your MIDI problem.  That is puzzling.

FYI....To do a "screen shot" of your computer display, simply hold the SHIFT key while hitting the "print screen" key.  This will save an image of your display to the Windows clipboard.  Then, open up Paint, or any photo editing program and Paste the clipboard image into the program.  Then, name and save the file.  If it's an editing program, you can then edit the photo if desired.  In Paint, you can "Save As" a JPEG instead of a bitmap (that will make the file smaller).

If you have a pop-up "window" and only need a copy of that, hold the ALT key while hitting the "Print Screen" key.

In this webpage, whenever you create an answer or question, there is a button that allows you to insert a photo (from your hard drive) into your question/answer. (IMPORTANT:  You must hit the "send to server" button and allow it to upload to the MAGIX server before hitting the OK button.)
