MM-17 keeps crashing on Vista

An associate of ours needs help.  It seems every time he tries to use a function that takes some processing power (such as the Effects Rack or Mastering Suite), MMM crashes.  I believe he's using MM-17 with Windows Vista.

His computer is not too bad.  Here are the specs...

"My PC is an HP Pavilion dv9500t, the CPU is Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GHZ. I recently upgraded the RAM from 2 to 4 gig (But I think my PC only uses 3)  I am running Vista Home Premium, 32 bit,  SP 2."

Any ideas what he can do to correct this situation?

(I tried doing a search, but it's almost as if the archives have been recently removed from the search feature.)

Hi Procyon

Taking a fix from Movie Edit Pro - search for MusicMaker.ini file (include Hidden and System folders), You will find several of them, the one(s) you want will be the larger of them, mine is 21kB in size - most are empty.

Rename it to something else eg MusicMaker.old  then restart MMM - if it follows the same pattern as MEP it will recreate the ini file and hopefully fix the problem.

Thanks John.  I'm glad someone has some idea how to go about this.  I have forwarded the information to the interested party.
