Can we assume that you are using MEP 15 or 16? If you ar experiencing a slower encoding time while using the same program you have always used then you must have something else running in the background. When I encode I turn off everything else and switch to my laptop while the computer is busy. Virus programs and updaters are the biggest problems. Make sure your screensaver and power options are not affecting things either.
