"Quality" is a subjective term.  Those of us that have been around long enough know that the latest trends in sound engineering do not necessarily represent the best in quality.

However, creating the "qualities" of modern sound engineering has little to do with the mixer levels.  It has more to do with compression.

Hi

I was advised by a friend who runs a recording studio to keep the level meters mainly in the green with the occasional yellow on very loud parts.

Set up the relative loudness of the instruments to get the balance you want then set the master volume to -6db for music with a large dynamic range and -3db for low dynamic range.

Thanks,so i see we are talking Minus Decibels,I assumed to Mix in plus Decibels, thats where i go wrong then.

Just wondering do you use magix music maker 17 premium,if so i would like to know how to how to reset the midi control data for a midi sequence without deleting all the main notes i have created. For example If i created a midi sequence and messed around with volume ,pan, note on/note off, pitch, vibrato, ect. and then decided that i want just the defuault synth midi notes, how would i reset all the controler changes? as i cant seem to find how?

Thanks.

Hi

I have MMM 17 and MMX and have also been looking at how to reset the instruments to their default.

The images show what appears to reset the default.  However what I do is to save the instruments Patch settings to file  the first time I use that instrument and before I change anything. and the reload them as I need to.

Maybe one of the more regular MMM users has a more definitive answer.
