MIDI Studio cannot import/open MIDI file

I did not find the answer to my question on this website.  MIDI Studio absolutely cannot open ANY MIDI file, not even a TWO note file it created.  It always generates the mossage "Not enough memory to create song".  Abort is the only option given.  I uninstalled the entire software (MIDI Studio and Audio Studio) and reinstalled with the same error.  I created a two note midi file using Midi Studio and the software FAILED to open the file it just created.  I am running Windows XP, SP3 on a quad core HP system. I had purchased Music Studio 2005 deluxe at CompUSA and misplaced the box.  I found the software recently and installed it.

Webradio Recorder likewise installs on this machine but will not work and Magix will not support it.

Hi

. . . . Windows XP, SP3 on a quad core HP system . . . .

I suspect that the Windows - Software  - Hardware mismatch is at the root of the problem you are having ie.

   1.   Not all the cores of the processor are being used - XP Home Edition can only use one of the four cores ,XP Professional Edition uses 2 cores.

   2.   Music Studio 2005 was designed to run on older hardware and may have difficulties with modern audio and graphics cards

   3.   If the XP is 32 bit then you may also be running out of memory hence the 'Not enough memory to create song' message

. . . . Magix will not support it. . . .

No company supports old software indefinitely.

Microsoft support for XP finally ends this April 8th.  From then on there will be no more security fixes and if you continue to run XP your computer may be vulnerable because there is a high risk that a security flaw which has not been fixed will be expoited.

IMHO it is time to replace Windows XP and Music Studio for newer versions - it is possible that Music Studio 2005 will run on Windows 7 but may have issues with the hardware, and unlikely to run or will run with many issues on  Windows 8 or 8.1
