MIDI stopped working in Music Studio

Hello, world!  I'm a new Samplitude Music Studio 2014 user.  Everything installed great and was working fine for the first month or so.  Then, while working one day, the software "hung" and I had to kill it via the task manager.  Ever since then, midi samples aren't working.

I can't hear the samples in the Soundpool, nor can I drag them into any track.

I tried to repair the installations of "essentialFX_Suite_DE_EN_130716_11-37_1_0_0_0" and "SMS2014_ObjectSynths_INT_130716_16-22_1_0_0_0" - not knowing what I was doing, but neither fixed the issue.

I have a different software (Cakewalk Sonar) that can do this just fine - even after the Magix crash, so it must be something in Magix - rather than in the machine.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated!  THANK YOU!

Assuming you did register with Magix, you recieved a  license  code P2-XXXX-XXXX and so on.  Revisist download website and re-download your program and other offered features.  Using Task Manager may have corrupted the program beyond repair by you.  Good luck

Thanks for responding!  Yes, I did register.  Really!?  Reinstall the entire thing?  Yikes.  Would I need o UNINSTALL first?

Any other suggestions before I do that would be appreciated.  I think the installation is a two-hour process.

Hi

Try resetting the program to its default settings - File, Settings, Reset . . .

If that fails then consider uninstalling, running the Magix cleaner the re-installing.
